Hello! I've just downloaded drawbridge 2.0.1, and I'm trying to install it. It's a 486 pc, Dos 5.0, and two NE2000 clone ethernet cards. The problem is that filter seems to lock up: No reject table found No allow table found No class table found According to the manual, the '$' should exit, but after pressing it (and other keys) We've never used NDIS before, so that is the likeliest source of error. - -- Charles Howes -- chowes@imag.net -------- From academic-firewalls-owner@net.tamu.edu Tue Jul 8 20:02:00 1997 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Date: Tue, 8 Jul 1997 17:48:40 -0700 (PDT) From: root To: academic-firewalls@net.tamu.edu Subject: Drawbridge solved! Hello again! The problem installing drawbridge has been solved! The first problem was that we had left out the 'PROTMAN' section of the protocol.ini file. Fixing this allowed filter.exe to continue further and then print 'NDIS configuration error', one of the least useful error messages I've seen today. The second problem was that we hadn't put 'DEVICE=c:\ndis\ne2000.dos' into config.sys TWICE. Does anybody know of an NDIS debugging program that'd tell me what was wrong? The error message "Something is wrong" is not good enough, anymore. Thanks! Oh, and how do you subscribe to this list? - -- Charles Howes -- chowes@imag.net
