BAFCEAINT@aol.com INTELINK INDUSTRY CONFERENCE SPEAKER UPDATE (as of : May 17, 1996) June 18-20, 1996 Dean Acheson Auditorium Department of State Washington, DC In conjunction with the Intelligence Systems Board/Intelligence Systems Secretariat, AFCEA International is proud to present the second Intelink Industry Conference, bringing together government, military, and industry in a forum for sharing information on Intelink, the paradigm that is revolutionizing the way the Intelligence Community conducts business. Intelink, which has been in operation for nearly two years since its inception as a testbed, is both an architectural framework and an integrated intelligence dissemination and collaboration service providing uniform methods for exchanging intelligence among intelligence providers and users. The Intelink framework conforms to the future direction of the National Information Infrastructure (NII). The Intelink service was patterned after the Internet model in which a variety of institutions have come together in the context of a global network to share information. Intelink was declared the strategic direction for all intelligence dissemination by Messieurs Woolsey and Deutch in August 1994, and is part of an overall effort to reduce duplication among the various agencies and services, enhance interoperability, modernize systems, and leverage the impressive developments by the commercial sector in the multimedia computing and communications fields. This conference has been planned for those (government, military, and industry) already using or supporting Intelink and for those wanting to learn more about the capability, technology, and opportunities it represents. In this packed, three-day conference, attendees will: • Learn about Intelink issues and plans • Stay current relevant future technologies • Discover opportunities to participate PROGRAM-AT-GLANCE (Speakers listed below are confirmed. Others are being added daily.) TUESDAY, JUNE 18, 1996 KEYNOTE ADDRESSES: Mr. Marc Andreessen, Vice President of Technology, Netscape Communications, "The Full Service Intranet" . Dr. Ruth David, Deputy Director for Science and Technology, CIA, "Information Technology-Driven Revolution in the Business of Intelligence" TECHNICAL SESSIONS: BROWSERS AND SEARCH ENGINES. With the rapid rate of growth in both the volume and diversity of information on Intelink, it becomes increasingly important to utilize search engines and browsers that allow the user to find all appropriate information and view that information in the form intended by the author. This series of presentations describe popular and innovative search tools and browsers that meet these needs. Mr. Frank Hecker, Senior Systems Engineer, Netscape Communications, "Accessing “White Pages” and “Yellow Pages” Search Services from Web Browsers and Related Applications" Mr. Mark Zalubas, Senior Systems Engineer, Oracle,"PowerBrowser and WebServer" WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1996 ELECTRONIC PUBLISHING. As the demand for increased accessibility of timely information from Intelink’s cyberspace continues to explode, new methodologies and technologies are required to shorten and enhance the author-to -consumer production cycle. This group of presentations highlights current industry trends and emerging standards (SGML, HTML, PDF, VRML, etc.) for the production, storage, and management of documents in an electronic publishing environment. Dr. John McCrea, Marketing Manager of WebFORCE, Silicon Graphics, Inc., “COSMO,” a Fully Interactive 3D Graphics and Multimedia Experience" Mr. Bill Yound, Electronic Publishing Division and Mr. David Bayer, Product Marketing Manager, Information Dimensions, Inc., "Case Study: Deploying an Electronic Publications System for ACM and Web Document Management: The Challenge of Hypertextual Anarchy" Mr. Bob Carter, Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager, Electronic Book Technologies, "Internet Publishing: Past, Present, and Future" Mr. Eric Skinner, Evangelist, Exoterica Corporation, "Hybrid Distributed Database (HDDB) and the Future of SGML" Ms. Devra Kudeviz and Mr. Kenneth Wylie, Adobe Systems Incorporated, "Enriched Publishing in the Electronic Information Age" COLLABORATION TECHNOLOGIES. While intelligence users have always collaborated, the availability of robust virtual electronic collaborative environments now emerging will permit dynamic interaction among geographically dispersed Intelink users and promises to dramatically change the way the Intelligence Community does business. These presentations describe the state of collaboration technologies and products and discuss the progress made towards product standardization for interoperability. Mr. Jim Clifton, Product Manager for neT.120 Conference Server, DataBeam Corporation, "Benefits of T.120 Conferencing over the Internet" Mr. John Malleo-Roach, Founder, Paradise Software, Inc., "Collaborative Environments for the Warfighter" Mr. Eldon Greenwood, Product Line Manager Groupware Division, Novell, Inc., "GroupWise and Net-Based Collaboration" Mr. Mark Yarish, PictureTel Corporation, "Desktop Videoconferencing Systems" THURSDAY, JUNE 20, 1996 SECURITY. Although the Intelink service was patterned after the Internet model, security has always been an important consideration for Intelink users and producers. As is becoming increasingly evident, Internet users and service providers share similar concerns. This group of presentations looks at commercial products and technologies that can be used in the secure Intelink environment to provide for the security and integrity of both information and users. Mr. Win Treese, OpenMarket, Inc., "Security and the World Wide Web" Mr. Steve Smaha, President, Haystack Labs, "Security 'Stalkers' " Mr. Charles S.
