*************************** * Remote Shutdown Utility * *************************** Description: This is a utility I wrote to handle remote shutting down of Windows NT machines. This will only work if the machine you are trying to shutdown has this feature enabled. A program "Shutenable.exe" is included to allow you to turn this feature on or off. To Use: Just enter the NETWORK NAME of the computer you are trying to shutdown in the first box (or check the 'Shutdown this computer' checkbox if you wish to shutdown the computer you are currently on). Type the message you wish to be displayed on the computer being shutdown in the second box. Enter the delay before shutting down (in seconds) in the third box. Finally either check or uncheck the following checkboxes: 'Shutdown this computer' - As explained earlier, use this option if you want to shutdown the computer you are currently using, in which case leave the computer name box empty. 'Force applications to close' - If you don't wish to prompt the user to close all active applications before shutting down. 'Reboot' - If you wish the computer to reset after it has shutdown. Then click the Shutdown button. Files: RShutdown.exe - Use this program to remotely shutdown Windows NT machines. Shutenable.exe - Use this program to Enable/Disable shutdown privilages on the NT machine. Special Notes: This is an untested, unsupported release. Use this program at your own risk. This program is freely distributable.
